Key tasks executed during this project included:
Conducting comprehensive assessment of protection assistance for vulnerable undocumented Afghan returnees and IDPs, focusing on post-arrival assistance, case management, and information dissemination support at reception centers (Herat, Nimroz, Kandahar, Nangarhar) and in high-return provinces (Badakhshan, Balkh, Faryab, Herat, Nangarhar, Nimruz, Sar-e-Pol, Kandahar).
Screening of undocumented returnees at border reception centers to identify vulnerabilities beyond undocumented status, providing standard post-arrival assistance including safe and dignified return facilitation to selected destinations.
Second-stage screening in high-return provinces to identify returnees with high protection risks, offering ongoing case management for returnees and IDPs with protection concerns.
Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of humanitarian interventions on returnees and IDPs, assessing satisfaction, economic self-sufficiency, social stability, and psychosocial well-being post-assistance.
